Gift of Caring
Some customers may not want to purchase cookies for dietary or other reasons, but still want to support Girl Scouts. The Gift of Caring is the perfect solution! Gift of Caring is a GS NorCal community service project in which girls sell "virtual" cookies to be donated to an organization. Cookie customers may choose to buy cookies and then have them donated to the military for troops overseas, to a local food bank, or to American Red Cross disaster services.
Advertise Gift of Caring at your Booth Sale!
Have girls make posters advertising the Gift of Caring. You can also use the ready-to-print Gift of Caring flyer available in English and Spanish in the Volunteers section of the Little Brownie Bakers website. (The GSNC program differs from what is in the Little Brownie Bakers Activity Kit, but the flyer will work for our program too!)
How to Accept a Gift of Caring Donation
Customers receive a donation receipt for their purchase. The customer receives the white copy; the girls keep the yellow copy to turn in with the money to their Troop Cookie Manager.
GSNC coordinates the donations at the end of the sale. Gift of Caring cookies are virtual; troops do not actually distribute the cookies.
Girls participating in the Gift of Caring program will earn a Gift of Caring patch. If a Gift of Caring is sold at a booth sale, all girls working the booth will receive a patch. The number of girls participating in Gift of Caring should be indicated on the Incentives tab in eBudde.
In 2010, eBudde will automatically include Gift of Caring orders on the Troop Sales Report.
