Me & My Fella Weekend

The Cove, Napa County

Open to girls grades 1-12 and their dad's (or other important adult male)
June 19-21, 2009 (arrive between 4-7pm, depart 3pm)

Show your dad (or other important adult male), the Girl Scout way to camp and enjoy the natural beauty of the Cove. The two of you will enjoy a variety of adventures, fun and camaraderie. Hiking, preparing your meals and of course, singing around the campfire are all part of your rustic outdoor experience. Bring your own tent and count the nighttime stars or sleep in one of the Cove’s shelters (please note if you want a shelter on your registration form). Swimming available on Sunday.

On The Road Again...California's Water Wonderlands

Join the OTRA crew as we explore California's Water Wonderlands from the Sierra foothills to the Central Coast and from Monterey Bay to Morro Bay. White water rafting, a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Kayaking in Morro Bay, and a "Sub Sea" tour is just a sampling of the adventure that await us on our 8 day tour! In addition we will spend time exploring the tide pools, observing sea otters and elephant seals; we’ll even take a tour of Hearst Castle. Oh, and lest not forget, time on the beach working on our tans! Fee includes transportation, meals, various accommodations, T-shirts, ID tags, program fees, and participation patch.

Smooth Sailing

Back by popular demand! In collaboration with the California Maritime Academy, GSNorCal will again present a sailing camp. Come join us at this 5-day boating camp and learn the ins and outs of Sailing Smart from U.S. Sailing instructors from the California Maritime Academy. Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Small Craft and Water Fun badges and Cadette Girl Scouts will earn the Smooth Sailing I.P. while learning safe boating and water safety. Girls may choose to register for Anchors Away (the following week) to gain more advanced sailing skills.

Please note: Registering girls must be able to swim 50 yards and tread water for 2 minutes while wearing a life vest. A swim test will be given on the first day of camp.

Girls, who’ve already experienced the benefits of Smooth Sailing or have had some boating experience, will have the opportunity to learn more advanced sailing techniques at this camp. You will enjoy fun-filled days of sailing and sailor games. Improve your sailing skills, learn new knots, discover the marine environment and delight in fun sailing races. REGISTERING GIRLS MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM 50 YRDS AND TREAD WATER FOR 2 MINUTES. A swim test will be given on the first day of camp.
