National Delegates
Who are National Delegates?
National Delegates serve for three years and attend the national Girl Scout convention to be held from October 30 through November 2, 2008, in Indianapolis, Indiana (October 29 through November 2 for girls). National Delegates are chosen by a vote of our Council Delegates at our Council's Annual Meeting on April 19, 2008.

Adult Volunteer. Region 9. Robin is President of the board of directors of Girl Scouts of Northern California. She is also president of AT&T West’s Business Communications Services where she is responsible for providing telecommunications services to California and Nevada’s one million small, mid-size and large businesses. Robin is a life-long Girl Scout.
Michelle Moore
Adult Volunteer. Region 1. Michelle is an active Girl Scout Leader for the Girl Scouts of Northern California and is also the mother of a brownie, a junior and a cadet. She is also a correctional officer at Pelican Bay State Prison near Crescent City in Del Norte County. She is instrumental in keeping the Girl Scouts active and visible in Crescent City. She is also a foster parent to 5 to 7 children at any given time, with every girl being exposed to Girl Scouting.
Cynthia Martin
Adult Volunteer. Region 2. Cynthia is a Service Unit Manager for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in the rural Intermountain area of Northeastern California in the town of Burney. Cynthia is also a real estate broker and holds several leadership positions in the real estate industry. Her service in Girl Scouts in vast from Troop Leader to Senior Planning Board President.
Peggy Foster
Adult Volunteer. Region 2. Peggy is a Unit Manager for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in Shasta County. She is also a Service Officer and Dispatcher for the Shasta County Marshal’s Office, as well as a Trustee Member for the Shasta Union Elementary School District and past President of the Redding Co-op Preschool. Peggy has served the Girl Scouts in many positions from Troop Leader to sitting on the Realignment Subcommittee.
Tessa Moty
Girl Member. Region 2. Tessa is Girl Scout Cadet working on her Gold Award in Shasta County. She has been a Girl Scout since she was a brownie and has participated in several leadership positions during her service as a Girl Scout. Tessa is also a cheerleader and in student government at Bishop Quinn High School in Palo Cedro, CA
Deborah Bailey
Adult Volunteer. Region 3. Deborah is a Service Unit Manager in Rohnert Park. She is retired from the Rohnert Park/Cotati School District and has been leading an in-school Brownie Troop for 18 years. She was one of the Konocti Council’s original Juliette Jubilee honorees, Rohnert Park Citizen of the Year Award and Volunteer of the Year for Sonoma County. Deborah is a life-long Girl Scout.
Erin Whelan
Girl Member. Region 4. Erin is a very active Girl Scout. Her accomplishments include a Bronze Award and a Silver Award. She earned her Silver Award by designing and building the Girl Scout website for the former Napa-Solano Girl Scout Council. In addition to her Girl Scout service, Erin is on the California Scholarship Federation and president of the Academic Decathlon Team. She is also treasurer of her Ski and Snowboard Club.
Joanne Loritz
Adult Volunteer. Region 4. Joanne is a Service Unit Director for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in Napa County. She is also a physician for The Permanente Medical Group in Napa. Her Girl Scout service is extensive from being a Troop Leader for 5 years to being a delegate to the National Convention as well as a delegate to the Annual Meeting. In addition to her Girl Scout service Joanne has served on the California Medical Association, the Solano County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. She was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the California Mental Health Planning Council.
Laura Krome
Adult Volunteer. Region 4. Laura is a multi-level Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in Fairfield where she works with Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors. Laura is a self-employed writer now, after a long career with the Bechtel Corporation where she worked as a facilitator in change management. She is a second-generation Girl Scout Troop Leader and Service Unit Manager, as her mother also served in those positions. Both of Laura’s daughters are also Girl Scouts.
Samantha Krome
Girl Member. Region 4. Samantha has been a Girl Scout since Brownies and is currently a Cadette transitioning to a Senior when she will be working on her Gold Award. She has attended Surf Camp as well as Rock Climbing and Horse Vaulting Camp. Her troop is currently planning a trip to Italy in 2010. She volunteers for the Meals on Wheels Program in her community and also runs sports oriented day camps. Samantha is the layout designer of her high school newspaper and writes for the paper as well.
Madeline Atkinson
Girl Member. Region 5. Maddie is a Senior Girl Scout in San Anselmo where she is currently working on her Gold Award. For her Silver Award she worked to replace the many tables and benches that were destroyed at two Girl Scout Camps by winter storms and floods. Maddie was selected to attend Astronaut Fast Track in Huntsville, Alabama at the US Space and Rocket Center. She belongs to the Drake high School Ski Club and the Save Darfur Club. She has also served on yearbook staff.
Pamela Atkinson
Adult Volunteer. Region 5. Pamela has been a Girl Scout in Marin County for more than 50 years. During that time she has lead a troops for 35 years, served on the Strategic Planning Task Group, worked on the Council Performance Assessment, been a Council Trainer as well as served as an Association Chair/Board Liaison and Coordinator. She has also received numerous awards for service and appreciation. When Pamela isn’t doing something for Girl Scouts she is running her company, Electric Marin Wheels.
Patricia Buckley
Adult Volunteer. Region 5. Patricia is the Service Unit Treasurer for Girl Scouts of Northern California in Novato. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of San Francisco Bay Area, as well as served on many other Girl Scout committees. Patricia runs her own law practice in Novato.
Teresa Ehteshami
Adult Volunteer. Region 5. Teresa is a lifelong Girl Scout beginning as a brownie and continuing to serve for more than 20 years. She is currently an active member of the Mission Rafael Service Unit Adult Coordinating Team. She also works for the City of Novato as a Senior Administrative Clerk and manages volunteers at the Margaret Todd Senior Center.
Christina Simpson
Girl Member. Region 6. Christina is Senior Girl Scout working on her Gold Award in San Carlos. She has been a Girl Scout since she was in kindergarten and has earned several awards over the years. Her Gold Award project is making and donating 25 quilts to the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Blankets for Babies program. Christina is on the California Scholarship Federation, Honor Society and Spirit Commission at Saint Francis High School
Julianne Tjan
Adult Volunteer. Region 6. Julianne is the leader of a Service Unit for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in Foster City. She has been a Troop Leader for 6 years and has two daughters in Girl Scouts. When she isn’t coaching a soccer team she is a senior manager for Juniper Networks
Sharon Torrano
Adult volunteer. Region 6. Sharon has 28 years of experience in Girl Scouts. She understands the importance of keeping the organization current and relevant while maintaining its traditions.

Adult volunteer. Region 7. From her teaching experience Daisy understands the needs and interests of urban, inner city young women. She wants to insure that the values and traditions of Girl Scouts ignite the hearts and minds of today and tomorrow’s youth.

Girl representative. Region 7. A 10th grader, Frenshcesca will work to find ways to connect to girls in outreach communities. She is working on her Gold award project.
Martha Miller
Girl representative. Region 7. Martha is a high school senior who has been a Girl Scout for ten years. She is interested in being part of an organization that will help make positive changes for Girl Scouts.
Katharine Hargreaves
Girl representative. Region 9. Katharine attended the Regional Caucus for the Girl Scout National Congress that met in Atlanta, GA. She feels that she can bring ideas that will keep Girl Scouts fresh and appealing to all ages.
Meredith Davis
Adult volunteer. Region 10. Meredith is actively involved in advising a Senior Girl Scout troop and understands the need to develop and promote the Girl Scout leadership program. She brings extensive experience in leadership positions from programs outside of Girl Scouting.
Anna Perry
Girl representative. Region 11. Anna is in 10th grade who has held leadership positions in the Model United Nations program and with YMCA, while being involved with Girl Scouts since the 2nd grade. She looks forward to representing the young women of Northern California.
Cinthia Talavera
Girl representative. Region 11. Cinthia is looking forward to representing Hispanic and Latino young women. She believes that being a National Delegate is a once in lifetime opportunity.
Doris Ann Cooper
Adult volunteer. Region 12. Doris has been delivering a modern, adaptive Girl Scout Program in a high-density urban council. She brings extensive business experience and strong communication skills to her role as a delegate.
Fran Chambers
Adult volunteer. Region 12. Fran has been actively involved in Girl Scouts in a variety of roles, including troop leader. She will work to insure that Girl Scouting will appeal to all girls.
Janet Hatch-Franklin
Adult volunteer. Region 12. Janet is a current Girl Scout leader who works with at risk girls. She wants to insure that Girl Scouts continues to be a vibrant and active organization that serves “Every Girl Everywhere”.
Sophia Cooper
Girl representative. Region 12. Sophia is a 10th grader who is very involved in many school and community organizations. Her goal is to make Girl Scouts relevant to the young women of today.
Berlyn McGriff-Ramirez
Girl representative. Region 13. Berlyn is a 10th grader who has completed over 300 hours of leadership and is working on her Gold Award. She is looking forward to shaping the future of Girl Scouting.
Clara Chin
Adult volunteer. Region 13. Clara is a current Girl Scout troop leader and recipient of many awards for her involvement at the service unit level. As a business owner, she understands the strategic decisions that need to be made at the National Convention.
Phuong Trinh
Adult volunteer. Region 13. Phuong recently returned from the Sangam World Center in India where she had the opportunity to meet with girl guides from many cultures. She will represent girls and women who wish to develop their full potential through Girl Scouts.
Marina H. Park
CEO. A former Girl Scout and former managing partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, a leading law firm, known for its diversity and inclusion of women attorneys, attorneys of color, and attorneys of diverse sexual orientation, Marina has had first-hand leadership experience as a Girl Scout volunteer in her community—including as a founding member of Camp CEO.
Andrea Bride
Chief Financial Officer of Girl Scouts of Northern California. Former board president and treasurer of the East Bay Waldorf School—a private, nonprofit school, and served on many committees and task groups of that organization, Andrea has served as an advisor to the Palo Alto Ballet as a member of Business Volunteers for the Arts.
Terri Hague
Senior Director of Program & Program Initiatives. Former Chair of the Gold Award Committee and oversaw the Destinations Committee, Terri has also managed the Program Unit as well as the By Girls, For Girls Committee. She was a recipient of the Appreciation Pin.
Sunnie Kaufmann
Community Development Director. Previously, Sunnie has held every camp position in existence and had worked her way up to Camp Director and Outdoor Program Director. She has been a member of Soroptimist, EWomen Network, and President of Bicultural Enrichment Club in college. She is very active in the Deaf Community.
Breeanna Mierop
Community Development Director. President of the San Jose Kappa Delta Alumnae Association and has served as a voting delegate at the Kappa Delta National Convention 2007. Breeanna is also active with the San Jose University Alumnae Association, Phi Kappa Phi Honors society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society. Also currently volunteers for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
Carlos Solórzano
Community Development Director—Hispanic Initiative. Assertive, knowledgeable, experienced and fully bilingual, Carlos was recipient of the Boy Scout’s Eagle Award, and is a member of the Latin American Baden Powell former Scouts Association and volunteers as a Cub Master and teaches Compass and Orienteering.
Shari Teresi
Adult Development Director. A recipient of the Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin, the Maud Whalen Award and Thanks Badge, Shari has held nearly every major position for PTA/PTO boards for the elementary, middle and high schools where her children attended including having chaired/developed numerous events and programs including a Science Fair and International Week.
